the image can be downloaded just like any file on the internet. If the browser supports it, as with hypertext markup(htm/html), php, images and text files, it treats it like a webpage and it won't be automatically downloaded as it. The way to download it is pressing Ctrl + S or selecting the save option from the file menu (if the browser has a file menu, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Exploder for instance).
