When plots are sold
#1
I don't know if that ever happened to anyone, but it did to me, and that really pissed me off. Let me just explain what I'm talking about first.

There was this HQ that Baasloon wanted to be built, so he hired me. It was in the Spawn's Sphere. The building was going fine, except that when I was going to decorate the place, a goddamn stubborn kid someone came in that land and bought the plot, as Baasloon ran out of money for a little while. He had the money in another account, however. Turns out that goddamn stubborn kid person wanted that land, and that land only, couldn't be any other land. We spent 20 minutes trying to make a deal with that idiot guy to get the land back, and when we managed to get it back, Baasloon had to give that prick guy 25 million and I had to give away my own house, which I spent roughly 10 hours working on. I don't know how anyone would act in that situation, but I, at least, gave up on having a son if I ever get married lost part of my faith in humanity for that.

I'm not saying he didn't play fairly. What I'm saying is that there should be a tolerance of at least 24 hours when you don't have enough money to pay rent, because it's quite a bummer to lose your plot because you ran out of Shards for a little while, or because you're sleeping and can't vote to receive money. Here's how it would work.

You have a plot, but you run out of money and can't buy it. You're also sleeping, so you can't vote to receive some money and pay rent. However, with that tolerance, nobody could buy that land for 24 hours. And, as soon as you have the money to pay rent, you would pay rent and some special tax. Let's say... 500.000 shards? That tax would be some sort of penalty for paying rent late.

Tell me what you think, if anything should be added to that, or if this is unecessary.

This isn't the first time I've seen this happen. I was on when this went down, and said person was being extremely obstinate and rude, you shouldn't have had to give up your plot for an imbecile like that. The grace period is a good idea, then things like this can't happen again. Vote yes, make PTS great again.

Such cases have arisen in the past. Thanks for bringing this up along with a suggestion. I'm voting Yes! Even in real life, the landlord doesn't immediately kick you out of his property if you fail to pay the rent on the agreed date. They usually give you a small interval of time to manage and in the end, pay the rent. If you fail to do so once again, then you are kicked out. The same concept should apply here.

Wubwub!

I might not play alot on the server but i vote yes to this suggestion, the sole feeling of how frustrating this would be if this happened to me(especially if the kid was going around claiming he made what I created) is enough to make me agree with brendan.

How about a deposit of maximum 10m, which you can refill at anytime during your tenancy, which will be saved for these times? When you run out of ss, your deposit will start paying for you at a rate of 1.25m/12h (instead of normal 1m/12h). That will give you 4 more days, and this state of the plot will be warned publicly during those days. This deposit box can also be filled by any other person. Because if I remember correctly we cannot pay an offline player right now (and we are likely not to be able to anytime soon), we can try to make this payment plot-based instead of owner-based. That way offline or not doesn't matter, a good friend can always step in to help.

Otherwise, I don't understand the idea of the original suggestion. Because of these 2 points:
1. If you are an active player: Why would you go as far as spending up all your balance when you know that you have a plot to keep and rent to pay? The point of having money in another account doesn't work well for me, changing a policy to support a multi-account-oriented culture.
2. If you are an inactive player (for weeks/months, not just a couple of days): What good does one more day do? It's not like you will be there to read the warning anyway.
3 (because I can't count) If you are inactive and have a friend who is active: This might be the only appropriate audience for this change. For this to work, it means that the warning notice is not for the owner only, but is public. In that case, if such friend failed to get the player back online, the plot would be snatched even quicker.

Everything up here is supposed to just give an insight, so I haven't yet voted for either way.

Yes.

Also i still wonder why Baaslonn lost his plot in the first place, i checked his bank bal several times and he had enough to pay the rent but for whatever reason he still lost ownership of it.

1. Because it's either something very important, you owe money to someone, or you already have the money in another account.
2. You do, in fact have a point there, but this is supposed to help those who are active and ran out of money, not inactive people. The max we could do is increase that tolerance from 1 to 3 or 5 days, but if someone is inactive for months, then it will be no use. Plus, I don't think someone is going to be without internet to vote for the server at least every now and then to keep the plot protection up.

3. I didn't get that topic very clearly, but from what I understood, you were talking about your own suggestion. If that's not the case, please be more specific.

And yes, your suggestion is indeed another option. It's even better, in a certain way. However, it might be harder to code. But, I'm not sure.

Thumbs Up
I think that would be a great idea like you have 24 hours to pay the rent with penalty tax rate before the plot would available to buy by anyone.  Idea Smile

Not only do you have someone like that, but when you half to pay 25 million soul shards to pay off a rent is just ridiculous
I don't understand, if you had to pay a person over 10 million, it's ridiculous. And in your honour, I am willing to pay 100k to help you recover. It may not be much, but I will do anything for a friend Big Grin.

No, just make sure you have the money...

would be very complicated to implement, when its not hard to just save 2mil shards for rental plots.
