old pc problem

problem:my pc is way too old to play on the srever if there is a way to decrease system requirements to run the srever probably
other stuff :I found a way to decrease the Lag by turning off the frame skip but it make me really slow in everything (picking up,attack,movement speed,getting damaged) maybe that is why most people think I use gmod when i pvp and I don't know how to use it so any ideas
other thing frame skip is glitched not believing me see this and find frame skip http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Settings

Try to low parallax down, mute the music, close all the programs, and it should work.

My parallex is off I mute everything my ram is 1.25 gb

Well, one thing you can try is use the Task Manager to set the program's priority higher.

Edit: And 1.25 gigs of ram?.. Is your comp a dinosaur or something?
