This is a Terraria server so you need to own the game.
Ingame, you hit Multiplayer --> Join with IP --> And enter: terraria.tls.id.au --> Port: 7777

You click Multiplayer > Join via IP > Select your desired Character (create a new one if non is present), and then you do what Cooln explained with great perfection.
