You have ambition, but you know that you usually never become a moderator if you just ask around, right?
You need to prove it with your actions.

Stel had 1-2 months when she became a mod, so that denounces the time myth
You have to be recommended by a mod, to become a mod
I rest my case your honor

Well, flat out asking someone if you can be a moderator can get annoying and a little spammy, so you should try to gain trust from mods and hopefully get them to recommend you.

You don't have to be recommended. I wasn't recommended, and Panther accepted me in-game. However, that was over a year ago. I still know you don't need to be recommended.

Also Coel, please fix your signature. It was a bit on the large side before, but now it is way too big. Try cropping the GIFs down a notch if you're intent on not getting rid of them. (I even marked your signature with a warning. Undecided)

...and the "asking will get you nowhere" thing goes to a certain extent. Just send an application. If it happens, it happens, but there are no guarantees.
If you're having trouble finding the thread itself, just use the search tool and type "Moderator Applications" in the thread box. It should be the one posted by Panther himself. Read the entire thread before making an application.

The thing is, I joined the server in late Jan. 2014, and got moderator in around Mid July. That is about 6 1/2 months. So that brings A. Know what you're doing in the server.

Also, get a good reputation, be the person that people get on and are like: hey, thats the guy that helped me work on my house, or told me that funny joke, or whatever. Which is B. Be friendly.

Another is to bust a lot of 'hackers', if you call them that. I kinda view hackers as people that hack into bank accounts, etc. not download a file into their terraria folder. I digress, but basically bust a ton of people who hack, and have proof of it, then post it on the forums. So C. Bust Hackers

Then there is the thing where Panther only looks for moderators every once in a while. People that have done all of this above, and apply correctly to him are most likely to get it. But, after playing for a while I've noticed some moderators pop up from time to time without him announcing that he is looking for one. Also, another thing, is the first rule about fight club, is that you don't talk about fight club, this sorta has the same sense. If I had to manage Panther's PM Inbox the amount of mod applications would drive me insane, so if you keep on asking "How do you get moderator", or keep on applying for mod, then thats only gonna not get you mod.

Sorry if I sounded a bit tipsy or out of it in this post, just had a boring day and Im tired. But yeah, this is what I think are all of the factors er at least the main ones that got me moderator in the server.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: I almost forgot this, 90% of the people that apply for mod think "Oh hey! Moderator gets you a ton of cool commands that I can use and it will be awesome!" No. Yes, it is true that you get a ton of cool commands, like rocket and slap to annoy your friends (sorry Glitch), but no for the fact that the very reason you are signing up for moderator is to help people, and bust hackers, which is being responsible, not so you can fool around with new stuff that you got and wear a shiny badge.

That basically sums it up.
