The Problem.
#1
So i was playing on the server today, like normal, and while playing, i saw in chat a couple of people selling terra blades for 300k and less. i really think that this is a problem and needs to be addressed. while i cant force people to do anything, i can suggest. and i suggest that the prices get sorted out. if you sell a terra blade for that cheap its gonna make some people think your a bit dodgy.

i personally believe the terra blade should be sold for 1mil. i know people can easily get that ss by voting but if they spend it on the terra blade they cant get anything else.

the same goes for everything else really. just go higher than you normally would. it stops the new players getting endgame weapons and breaking the ingame economy. and if your still unsure of the recommended prices you can simply ask someone else.

im prepared for people to disagree with me too, but its true. the econoomy is being ruined by people selling endgame items at all. im also shutting down my shop and using all the equipment i have to power my army, so that means i also wont be selling endgame items anymore.

I totally agree with this, people have been selling stuff for lower prices ever since the rank cost has been lowered. I even managed to get all the ranks possible without paying or being staff and I know some other people also have all of them too, I can basically spawn all the items if I log in to my accounts with different characters. I brought this up because end-game items are now easily spawned in, and not worked for like the terra blade or spectre armor. Before the rank costs were lowered, I spent at least a day farming for the SS required for the next rank, and the weaponry was harder to get. Also, since the cooldown WAS removed before now that it was added again, people sold terra blades for 100k and less, and armor for 50k and less since you could spawn it in anytime.

This is why the shop system has price limits, but for some reason people ignore them.

Yes, I had brought up this point around a month ago, the problem is that the newbies that join the servers, far outnumbers the veterans who truely understands what the problems are.

99% of all newbies would never choose to inflate the economy, they want to get their endgame stuff as soon as possible.
So after a bit of thinking, I had 2 plans in mind:
Either we enforce them through a trading system instead of having to do the usual /pay command and set a minimum for the prices that the sellers can set, or we force the players to sell their items they want to get rid of to the shop itself. The shop itself will no longer have infinite items and the shop sells those gear for a bit more expensive.

Also, we can never enforce an economy as long as people can drop stuff and /pay command exists.

ah, you see, but there is a major problem with that, the shop gets used probably more than you think... it would be nice if that worked for the items the shop didn't sell though, for instance the Terra Blade... as for people selling end-game items to newbies for very low prices, it is a problem but there's no way to relieve the server of it without eliminating the /pay system, or at least that i know of.. and that wouldn't just fix the newbie problem, it would also make everyone who is correctly trading absolutely livid...
As for newbies wanting to rush to the end of the game in 2 hours, that's their problem for wrecking the challenge of playing terraria with tons of other people
