I remwmber back when I played this other game ther is something called "double login" it's where you open 2 accounts at same time on same device but that game had heavy graphics so no one managed any more than that... but this is terraria simply 2D so on here it would be called "multiple login" i guess, but yeah more than 3 characters only 3 players controlling them behind screen.
