Poll: Item Bans - Panther - 08-04-2015 Firstly, Wolfje's addressed some issues where the map would disappear and users were getting "Found Server" serval times when trying to connect... hopefully this is now fixed. Secondly, I've had some feed back regarding the recent class item bans, so I want to put it to a vote. Currently I've restrcted Certain end game items to classes. Eg Solar Flare (Melee bonus set) to warriors only, Nebular (magic set) to mages only, ect Some people have requested a change to just be a straight up level requirement only, so If people would perfer this, please note that the required level for these sets would probably go up from 20 to 70, but be usable by any class. baring this in mind, and that more sets/items would probably also get level requirements, please vote for which you'd prefer for a better in game experiance, also keeping in mind that you can change classes or have alt accounts with the current setup... RE: Poll: Item Bans - Temple Priest - 08-04-2015 Having to switch classes whether or not you can type /login is a little irritating, i think it would be better if item classes were only restricted to those who rank up, because people should be able to use multiple armor for whatever they need it for. When i used multiple classes before i donated I always mixed weapons with armor sets and accessories. I like the idea of having certain classes be able to use these items over another class, but straight up banning them from all other classes is a little excessive. I personally liked it back when certain classes could spawn in the items that related to their class like it was a year ago (warrior can spawn in solar flare items and builders can spawn in laser drill and so on). But instead make the moon lord, pillars, and martian saucer not spawnable so that players who dont have the rank have to buy the class specific objects from other players. That way, anyone can have the items, but its easier to get the items from a certain class. RE: Poll: Item Bans - Panther - 08-04-2015 yeah, spawning in items was just abused way too much. Theres a shop now which players can use to buy items. you need lvl 100 to buy solar flar/nebula items ect.. RE: Poll: Item Bans - FabbyTizzi - 08-04-2015 I prefer that Armor/Weapons are only Level restricted, hence my vote for it. On another note i'd like to know if there is a way to increase the maximum level as lvl 100 is clearly not High enough (own experience) as i reached it within 2 weeks of mass farming Bosses and Gambling. High Quality End Game Armor/Weapons such as Solar/Stardust/Nebula/Vortex should be lvl 80 - 100 restricted and Moon Lord Items something like 110 or 120. RE: Poll: Item Bans - Coolncreamy - 08-05-2015 I believe that it should be a combination of the two. For example, one would pick a class at level 20ish which would restrict their frag item usage as it is now. However, my idea is that once a player reaches a certain level (75ish) all frag sets would become available. This would make it so that we could still use one frag set at level 20, but all sets would become eventually available with time and dedication. I disagree with the first option of class restriction because many people, including Temple and myself, find themselves using different armors for when they work best. Although I prefer mage weapons and armor overall, I still use weapons like Daybreak, Solar Eruption, and Stardust Dragon very frequently. I disagree with the second option of level restriction because it will take a very long time to make it to level 70 for endgame armor (unless you buy Soul Shards or VIP, but not a lot of people will want to spend real currency on something like this). If we went with this option, most people would have 1.2 gear instead of the new gear better suited for our server's large scale invasions that happen very frequently in the arena. One problem I have with this whole restriction thing is that if you want to play Terraria in multiplayer with all the gear you would have normally, you gotta pay real money. VIP's are the only people who get to choose what they wish to use, whenever they wish to use it, and I don't want to pay twenty dollars to use weapons and armor in a game I truly love in a server I have adored since September 2013. Even if i spend three to five dollars to buy Soul Shards to get to level one hundred, which cost 261,181,250 Soul Shards, I only get access to a couple commands and the weapons Meowmere and Star Wrath, which I don't use very much. This is why I believe we should be able to choose one set, and later be able to use the rest. The server as of late has become too VIP based and all of us regular players should have more access to weapons and armor, even if it takes a bit of work, without having to spend real world currency. It would be very easy to go to a different server with no restrictions, but why would I want to do that when I adore this world and community? I hope you find my opinions insightful and relevant toward the betterment of this community. Maybe make the items only purchasable to the certain ranks if possible... i suppose that could be a little hard to code... RE: Poll: Item Bans - Mizz - 08-05-2015 Id have to say i like coolncreamy's solution much better than just 1 or the other. Keeping the initial lockout at level 20 will protect against super low levels /hackers from just spawning in endgame gear, like it has been since the restrictions were first introduced, while openning up all the items to higher level players will greatly ease the frustraion of those who dont like the restrictions, as well as provide more incentive to continue to level up. Although if it comes down to just "plan A or plan B, no exceptions," i greatly prefer the current system over having everything open at level 70 or so. Doing it that way would not only water down the class system to being virtually irrelevant, it would leave mid-level characters undergeared to fight the things they need to in order to get a reasonable amount of shards for their level. How is it too VIP based? atm the only thing VIPS can use over normal players is Dev items. RE: Poll: Item Bans - Coolncreamy - 08-05-2015 By VIP based I mean that they are the only ones right now that can use whatever armor and weapons they want, including Developer sets, and as I stated in my previous argument requires lots of time to get to level 100, or spending real world money to buy Soul Shards or VIP. Also, I have noticed that ever since the dungeon entrance was blocked off, preventing the Lunatic Cultist, pillars, and Moon Lord from being available naturally, the only way to get fragments was through VIP's, who spawned pillars fairly often, whether to help other players get fragments, or for farming the mobs that spawned from said pillars. This means the only way to get them will be to buy them from other players who have plenty like VIP's or myself, who, for example, has acquired 668 Vortex Fragments. RE: Poll: Item Bans - Wise Old Man - 08-05-2015 I didn't have the "Found Server" bug before this post, but now I do have it. Don't know why and I can't get on. Also I have an idea that only people that are their class or level 70+ should be able to craft their classes end-game gear and or all end-game gear. |
