It's important to realise that even 2.5% is a really low percentage. If you drop millions on death it means that you have a lot of cash, and you really shouldn't worry about it.

Dying with 10 trillion soul shards should never carry the same punishment as dying with 10k soul shards, that's why it's a percent.

I'm not sure why it involves this amount of whinging or discussion -- it'll never take over 2.5% of your balance.

Exactly, I've always thought that the SS drop percentage has always been in the right place. If you've got tons and tons of SS, either use them if your worried about dropping them all, donate them, but if your maximum rank and are just a sitting pile of gold, use them in some way.

You can create a separate account for another rank

Example:
I made a builder rank account for building tools/blocks if i want to build something instead of spending a lot of time getting the materials.
